CHIEF CONSTABLE'S "WAR WITH REALITY" IS OVER..



Confirming that his long battle with reality is now over, PSNI Chief Constable and part-time politician Hugh Orde has declared that the IRA does not intend to return to "war." Read the risible details here in the Observer.



Where to begin?



First, what "war" is he talking about? I wonder does he mean the barbaric terrorist campaign waged against the decent people of NI and GB by the IRA thugs? If so, maybe he should say so.



Second, he suggests that the PSNI, like the good little puppets of Government that they are, will "reopen five 'template cases' from the Troubles as part of its contribution to the truth and reconciliation process." Mmm...now which process is THAT - exactly? Might the Ubercop be teeing up PSNI participation in a "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" (TRC) that Blair is hell-bent to impose on us?



Third, he pontificates that it would be great progess if the IRA "signed up" to policing via the Policing Board.So God help us all. We have a Chief Constable of the PSNI in denial that the IRA is a terrorist organisation, recruiting and rearming - whose dearest vision for a future is one in which this same terrorist gang gains control of daily policing affairs.



Policing here in Northern Ireland has become a bad joke. The memory of the RUC is besmirched by every bleat out of the mouth of Hugh Orde - truly the people get the police force they deserve.
