Marlon Brando - 03 April 1924 - 01 July 2004
It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of Marlon Brando. He was one of the best actors of his generation, starring in such greats as A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, Guys and Dolls, Mutiny on the Bounty, and Last Tango in Paris. However, Brando will perhaps be remembered for the stunning performance he gave as Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather.
Despite his formidable acting talents, Brando was one who largely shunned the publicity-seeking excesses of Hollywood fame. He had a fraught relationship with many studio bigwigs and, in his later career, was identified with film roles with a dramatic impact way below the exorbitant fees demanded by him. Among the more unusual facts about Brando's life concerned his expulsion from High School for riding a motorcycle through the halls.
Marlon Brando - RIP.
