Never the Twain: Islam and Co-existence
My opinion on radical Islam is straightforward: I believe it to be the biggest threat to world stability since Hitler's National Socialists. If Muslims are not causing trouble in the Middle East, they are seeking to dispossess adherents of other faiths in Java (Hindus); and Mindanao, Sudan and the Caucasus (Christians).
Now they are turning their obsessive, fundamentalist spotlight on the island of Sri Lanka. The Sinhalese majority already has to struggle with the terrorism of the Tamil Tigers. They do not need the additional headache of Islamic militants forming murderous networks across the sub-continent. They could opt for one of two solutions:
1.) Root out and destroy all vestiges of terrorism on the island.
2.) Passively submit to most of the terrorists' terms; ensconce them in government; destroy democracy and name this project 'the Sri Lankan peace process.'
My advice is to choose the former!
