I was delighted to see that, at long last, the PSNI has charged one of the cross-border fuel smugglers. The amount of illegal fuel circulating in Northern Ireland is outrageous and anything that can help stop this rampant criminality is most welcome. Of course, charging the smuggler concerned is one thing - his conviction and degree of punisment is a separate matter. Let's see what the Courts do.
