Lies, Damn Lies and Asylum Statistics
I wouldn't trust any member of this New Labour government to tell me the right time. Hence, you could scarcely be surprised at my utter contempt for the latest statistics expected to show a fall in the number of asylum applications to the UK. The fact is that the numbers of asylum seekers, and immigrants in general, have exploded exponentially since this lousy Blairite crowd took over the reins of power back in 1997.
Great Britain is a small, overcrowded island. The UK is the second most densely populated country in the EU (after Holland) and amongst the top five most densely populated Western democracies. Nobody doubts the benefits created by modest immigration, but when the country is bombarded with a multitude of different - and often antagonistic - cultures the situation becomes desperate. Last night a programme on ITV talked of the phenomenon of 'ex-pat Brits' on the Spanish Costas. I'm convinced that if you asked the great bulk of them why they had chosen to leave Britain in the first place, they would cite the bastardisation of British culture through disgustingly excessive immigration as a primary contributory factor.
The United Kingdom had a treaty agreement with France which enabled the authorities here to return bogus asylum seekers back across the Channel immediately upon entry to our country. The treaty lapsed in 1997 AND HAS NOT BEEN RENEWED. Why do Left-wing administrations revel in diluting the culture of the country they are entrusted to govern with excessive amounts of immigrants and asylum seekers? Pursuing a belief which can only lead to social disharmony in the long-term is hardly the hallmark of political nous, after all.
