McEl'Guff'

More nonsense from Sinn Fein/IRA Brownshirts, I see. The latest tirade comes from Bazza McElduff (who secured his seat courtesy of the morally corrupt of West Tyrone). He waxes lyrical about the supposed ineptitude of Direct Rule ministers - accusing them of delivering 'bad government.'

Maybe it's because I'm not always observant, but I haven't seen people out on the streets of Northern Ireland protesting about the absence of locally elected ministers. On the contrary, the Province is enjoying its greatest period of stability in over thirty years. Northern Ireland is being governed by people who, whatever their private beliefs about the Union, are first and foremost committed to impartial governance on behalf of the general citizenry. One could not imagine, for example, Angela Smith or Ian Pearson choosing to concentrate maternity services in a particular constituency for no other reason than to curry electoral favour for purely sectarian reasons.

Northern Ireland's Protestants and respectable Catholics have had a sour taste of these IRA shitheels in government for the past six years. They will not relish the prospect of having Sinn Fein in power, slowly tearing at the socio-political and constitutional fabric of the Union, for the sake of another false peace. The last thing the Province requires at this time is the empowerment of those whose objective is to slowly drag Ulster away from the rest of the Union. Sinn Fein MLA's should be behind bars, not behind desks!
