Name that Tune!

Further to David's recent blog on the classic Costello number, 'Oliver's Army', I thought I'd open myself up to ridicule by listing my all-time top ten favourite songs. Here goes (no laughing please).....

1. The Beatles 'Let It Be' - 1970

2. The Monkees 'Daydream Believer' - 1967

3. The Hollies 'The Air that I Breathe' - 1974

4. Don McLean 'American Pie' - 1972

5. The Beatles 'Something' - 1969

6. The Beatles 'Revolution' - 1968

7. Diana Ross & The Supremes 'Baby Love' - 1964

8. Jimmy Ruffin 'What Becomes of the Brokenhearted' - 1966

9. John Denver 'Annie's Song' - 1974

10. The Lighthouse Family 'High' - 1998

I am 31 years of age, yet most of my favourite tunes were released before I was even born. That says a hell of a lot about the contemporary talent (or lack of it) on BOTH sides of the Atlantic.
