Postman Prat
Every now and then we are treated to a classic story which does wonders in revealing the underlying purist fascism of the Irish republican movement. This article in the Ulster Herald does just that! Not content with unremitting butchery over thirty years in an attempt to subjugate Unionists, Sinn Fein/IRA now resorts to the comparably feeble - but no less infuriating - tactic of community provocation. The biggest champion of the Belfast Agreement is, even now, incapable of adhering to the policy of recognising the legitimacy of the Union: the alleged sine qua non of the treaty supported on Good Friday.
The villains of the piece, 'Ogre' Sinn Fein, claim the makeover is merely 'to highlight the folly of partition' (still refuse to recognise the 'principle of consent, eh?). An 'Ogre' spokesman said: 'Anyone who says a postbox in Lifford and a postbox in Strabane are in two different countries needs to get their head examined (maybe IRA thugs will come and put a bullet in your head by way of 'examination'). For too long there has been two of everything on this island....' Yes, idiot!! That's because there are two different sovereign territories on 'this island' - recognised as legitimate by everybody save for the gun-toting sewage you lot assiduously defend.
As for the 'progressing to national unification', I feel the statement is so ridiculous as to be unworthy of a lengthy response. If the 'Ogres' persist in vandalising government property, the Royal Mail must respond by fitting pillar boxes with CS spray canisters which are activated when wet paint is applied to the box in question. Let's see how keen tomorrow's terrorists are to display their 'artistic merit' then.
