WHY FEMALE DOCTORS ARE BAD NEWS.
Female doctors may represent a loss of status and influence for the profession. So says Professor Black, that's Professor Carol Black, the president of the Royal College of Physicians.
More than 60% of new doctors are female and it is estimated that in eight year's time female doctors will outnumber men across the profession. The pressures of family life mean that female doctors tend to avoid the most demanding - and prestigious - areas of medicine such as cardilogy or surgery.
Professor Black can make this point because she is a woman - I wonder what fate would befall a male doctor making the same point?
