Scotland's Folly
MSP's finally move into the new parliament building in Holyrood this morning. I hope these 129 wasters will be very happy in their new palatial surroundings. The parliament is 4 years late in opening and 10 times over budget. Just think how many more important projects could have been conceived for the benefit of the general public with £400 million.
Devolution is a sham! It has the potential to fragment the United Kingdom because the two principal opposition parties in Cardiff and Edinburgh are nationalist by inclination (we will briefly forget about the unique terrorist-oriented picnic up at Stormont). This means that nationalism will directly benefit from either the incompetence of governing parties, or else the natural longing for change which always eventually comes to the fore with electorates. Moreover, devolution has become an obscenely expensive gravy train providing endless luxuries for the schlemiels ensconced in grandiose parliamentary surroundings, whilst at the same time doing little or nothing for the people who put them there.
