It appears that the Government may delay the introduction of water charges here in Northern Ireland by one year. Big deal! The scandalous plan to levy this tax on people should be scrapped if this rotten Government had even a scintilla of decency - which it doesn't. The only fair mehod would be to introduce metering - with special considerations for the elderly and infirm. And even then, this would have to be accompanied with a substantial reduction in the current rates.
