The UUP is dead in the water and anyone with half a brain can see it. UUP pundit Alex Kane knows it - only the diehard brigade deny the obvious.



The fact that our Jimbo scraped in with HALF the DUP first preference vote is damning. The fact that he had to sit and wait for preferences from the DUP, and then Gilliland, to get his seat is humiliating. He is, after all, the ONLY sitting MEP standing, if you'll pardon my jumbled words!



I watched his BBC TV interview and he was dreadful. Inarticulate, incoherent, inbyawhisker.



If the UUP is to survive in any electorally meaningful form it needs to dump the inept leadership now, it needs to completely alter the party from A to Z, or come the next election, it will suffer the fate of the now broken SDLP.



The lessons are obvious but is the UUP leadership capable of learning? Time will tell.
