A Tangled Web

Get Back!



I'm sitting in front on my computer screen listening to the Beatles 1 album (more specifically the song Get Back) and trawling through the mass of websites attempting to find something extremely provocative to whet your appetites with.



The song had just reached the the line where Lennon sings 'get back to where you once belonged' when I came across this from a Mr Francis Connolly. Mr Connolly is, self-evidently, a sycophant of Irish republicanism. He refers to the British people using the pejorative term 'Brits', he hints at condescension over the nationality of St. Patrick and, above all, he reads and contributes to a newspaper which lionises a terrorist group implacably hostile to the constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom. All the same, Mr Connolly does not reside in his wonderful Ireland, he lives in........yes, you guessed it.......the United Kingdom.



I have never quite understood the motivations of the Irish who have settled in Britain; are quite happy to live under British rule; yet champion any means, fair or foul, designed to force the Unionists of Ulster into an all-Ireland state. Surely if living under Irish rule is so bloody marvellous, they would willingly countenance such an option themselves. At the end of the day, they constantly inform us how the 'Celtic Tiger' has made Ireland so rich, countries like Switzerland have African standards of living by comparison. In addition, there are certainly no legal or immigration barriers precluding their return. Thus, ceteris paribus, they should try to practice what they demand of others.



Mr Connolly, if you and your ilk hate Britain so much, then bugger off back to where you came from!!
