Hollywood Projecting Republicanism

After sitting through The Devil's Own on a few occasions, I am well aware of the erroneous propensity of film moguls in Los Angeles to make the IRA out to be something it most certainly is not. Hollywood has a tendency to engage in political and social romanticism to an almost cloysome extent where matters 'Oirish' are concerned.

Thus, I am slightly disturbed by proposals to make a new movie, covering the life of IRA hunger striker, Francis Hughes. The film, to be called The Time Has Come, will probably follow the tedious Orwellian line of 'British = bad, IRA = freedom fighters'. It is high time proficient film-makers used their talents to portray terrorists as terrorists. Judging by the enthusiastic backing the project has received from Hughes' family, I can't see this film pioneering such a depiction.
