NO WHIPPING FOR SMACKING..!



I was amused to hear a BBC newsreader solemnly intone that Labour would not be applying the whip in today's House of Lords vote to curtail parents disciplining their children by smacking them. Here we see Nanny State in full cry dictating to parents how they should instil discipline in their children. Listening to the harridans from Labour imply that parents just need "that little extra help" from Government in the form of draconian legislation (suprise, surprise)sickens my stomach. Government has absolutely NO RIGHT to inter in how parents bring up their children. The notion that we parents will thrash our children to within an inch of their lives unless Big Brother Government is there to keep a mindful eye on us is typical of this intrusive Socialist dictatorship that has stolen our country. I firmly believe that parents have the right to discipline their children through a carefully chosen word, and in the appropriate case, a selective slap. Children are NOT adults, contrary to what all the weenie-liberal human rights activitists pretend, and I venture to suggest that we would not see have the hooliganism that pervades this country if a little more discipline was applied by parents in the household. This may involve smacking, and it is shameful that the rights of PARENTS are being gradually taken away and absorbed by the all-powerful British Nanny State.
