Pampering Parasites
Of all the thousands of asylum applications received in the UK each year, only a modest percentage turn out to be genuine cases. Most applicants are held in centres pending the outcome of their review. When it is finally discovered that they simply tried to use the UK as a catalyst for economic aggrandisement, they should (in theory) be sent home at the earliest opportunity.
Britain has long had a reputation for showering a disproportionate amount of goodies on newcomers at the expense of citizens who were born here and, moreover, citizens who demonstrate unquestionable loyalty to this country. Therefore, I wasn't startled by the list published on the BBC website detailing all the luxuries to be included at our latest detention centre opening in rural Oxfordshire. How galling it must be for people who, say, have fought in wars for this country to be treated as unwelcome human flotsam, whereas economic parasites - who have paid not one penny into our economy - are lavished with state-of-the-art facilities, often of superior quality to services utilised by the general public.
