If someone came up to you and attempted to persuade you of the existence of the Tooth Fairy, I suspect you would be loath to believe them.  Bearing that in mind, I find the BBC's decision to highlight this story somewhat idiotic.  Do the intrepid newshounds in Shepherd's Bush actually believe a country like Iran, with Islamic bewitchery written into every aspect of its constitutional and public life, would seek to curtail the actions of terrorists equally tutored in destructive religious radicalism?

 

The story is riddled with vagaries.  Intelligence sources in Tehran are unwilling to disclose information which could verify the story.  I fear it is a case of Iran attempting to curry favour with Western polities expert in offering the benefit of the doubt, as opposed to a genuine effort to crush Al Queda once and for all.
