Bart Simpleton
Further to the attempts by Slugger regulars to heap vitriol on A Tangled Web, I came across this submission from 'Bart' (reprinted in full at the bottom of this piece. Please excuse his atrocious spelling). What it is about blog sites which prevents people from writing under their full name I have no idea. However, Baby Bart's opinions are particularly worthy of comment because they sum up all that is wrong with the hysterical reactions of the 'politically correct' when broaching issues they don't agree with.
First off, I am not 'anti-Irish' in a general sense. I woul be the first to acknowledge some the of the great writers, actors and musical talents to emerge from that country. What I loathe and detest is the whole Irish nationalist culture: the belief of an 'entitlement' to territory they have no organic historical right to claim, in contravention of the wishes of a clear majority who live in that same territory. However, for the Irish republican brigade who have infiltrated and dominated every relevant Internet site around, it must be really vexing for them to know there is a website whose contributors will not bend in an unwavering support for the Unionist cause.
Secondly, irrational reactions by the 'politically correct' to subjects perceived as taboo are precipitating the emergence of genuine political extremism. For example, I have often said I believe there is too much immigration into this country. For that stance I have been branded a 'racist', a 'BNP supporter', 'a fascist' and the like. It matters not that, in all probability, my views are shared by a large proportion of the silent majority. For the Left-wingers, who have been allowed to shape the socio-political agenda for the last forty years, notwithstanding the election of both Conservative and Labour administrations, airing the problem of immigration and/or asylum is tantamount to having a swastika tattooed on one's forehead. If the power-that-be want to know a reason for the rise in support for idiots in the BNP, they should look no further than the end of the their noses.
Baby Bart is evidently irked by the existence of A Tangled Web. Nevertheless, his puerile ire is not born out of a sense of principled dislike. It stems from his odious adherence to the principles of Irish nationalist ideology. Slugger's clan of republican hangers-on has just acquired yet another new member. I'm sure he'll feel very much at home, bless him!!!
'That website really has some disturbing muck on it. I'm assuming that it is not written tongue-in-cheek which makes these people 21st century nazis or socially backward lads who need some medication. There is some foul anti-Irish comments left up on it too - which I am sure could get them into trouble under racism and insitement to hatred laws in Britain. I'm just very very glad that Andrew McCann lives on another Island, in another country. And he doesn't pollute Irish soil or air with his presence. Muppet.'
