I note that Council bosses have asked a couple to stop feeding the wild birds that visit their garden. "We have received complaints about the noise from the birds in the early hours of the morning and the possible attraction of vermin" says a letter from High Peak Borough Council in Derbyshire, England. Deborah and Graham Shearer, the culprits of the Council's ire, say they never put food on the ground and that they are only doing their bit for wildlife!



Early morning birdsong is one of the joys of life and the petty bird-brained Council officials concerned should be ashamed of their actions.
