Regular readers will know that I am a big fan of most things American. But I detest the way in which the legal profession has turned the US into compensation culture central. Watching US TV means watching dozens of ads promising to "get you the compensation you deserve" to people who probably don't' deserve any in the first place!! I am pleased to see the British Conservative Party is claiming that it wants to restrict the growth of compensation culture here in the UK . Hope this is true, because when it comes to mendaciousnes, only politicians exceed lawyers!! Of course, should I slip on a paving stone later today....
