THE CULT OF TRIMBLE...



And that's not a typo folks! The Newsletter has an amusing interview with Ulster Unionist Supremo David Trimble today. In it, the UUP leader spells out his vision for the future.. He wants to remain Party Leader (having seen it's fortunes decimated due to his inept leadership), he wants to stand in Upper Bann again for Westminster (having seen his majority drop to 1000 last time around!) and he wants to be First Minister again (having seen his Party's representation at the Stormont Assembly drop way below that level which could reasonably ever return him as First anything)



Trimble is either living in complete denial - or else what he really means is that he will be stepping down from his current position and this is just vainglorious blathering before the event. Politicians are like that - say one thing and mean the opposite. In one respect I like Trimble. He has asserted himself in a party of political dwarfs. He has shown that he will take risks. The problem is his judgement is deeply flawed, he has no concept of man management, and that strange way in which he walks..or waddles.
