DROP THE "HUMAN RIGHTS ACT"
Once again the Tories have suggested a promising policy. David Davis has indicated that his Party might scrap the Human Rights Act if it regained power. Here are a few instances of the Human Rights Act in action:-
- Mass murderer Dennis Nilsen argued that his "right to freedom of expression" under the Act entitled him to watch hardcore pornography in prison. Rather than face the cost of contesting his claim, the Prison Service agreed.
- Under the Act, it is considered a breach of asylum seekers rights to return them to a country with lower standard health care than the NHS. (Mind you...)
It's time that the Human Rights Act, it's wealthy patrons and practitioners, bit the dust. Scrap it.
