Fooled Yet Again, I See!

The Belfast Telegraph does itself no favours by exposing its gullible flank to a highly sceptical audience. In today's edition, a leader writer foolishly opines the notion that Sinn Fein/IRA could actually be genuine this time when it comes to resolving the contentious issue of illegal terrorist armies and their murderous arsenals.

Surely the 'Bel Tel's' hacks can't be that stupid! After all, many of them have lived through a decade of republican lies, spin, deceit and obfuscation. It looks like these so-called intellectuals are going to fall for the same trick again. Furthermore, where does the newspaper obtain evidence of 'a widespread disillusionment with Direct Rule'? Obviously not from the respondents of several recent surveys (of all religious persuasions) who have expressed broad satisfaction with the stewardship of a Direct Rule team not singularly obsessed with doing anything and everything which might provoke disharmony and instability across the Province.

Allowing people who have a vested interest in constitutional revolution to hold political power in a territory they wish to destroy is no tonic for any of the 'pitfalls' stemming from London's direct governance. One prays the DUP are not tempted to enter an arrangement which will verify that fact!!
