It is a convention of Leftism to convey upon their opponents some of their own worst prejudices. This is why the laughable Denis McShane, Tony Blair's Minister for Europe, felt fit to describe those opposed to the UK being swallowed up in the Euro-Superstate as "latent xenophobes and racists." Eursoc has an excellent take on this issue here - well worth reading. It strikes me that as the Euro debate deepens we will become increasingly clear that the intolerance and loathing lies with those who are dedicated to destroying the Nation State in general - and the United Kingdom in particular. Watching Peter Mandelson head off to be "our man" (yeah)at the European Commission sent a shiver down my spine - the enemy within is the term that comes to mind.
