ZELL MILLER - AMERICAN PATRIOT.
Anyone who has been following the US Presidential campaign will be delighted that retiring Democratic Senator Zell Miller of Georgia, who has backed President Bush for re-election, will deliver the keynote address at the Republican National Convention. Zell is the kind of Democrat politicians that is almost impossible to find these days.
A few readers here on ATW have been asking me to compare Clinton's record with that of George W's. Allow Zell to set you folks straight; After all, I think a DEMOCRAT is probably best placed to be balanced on his own Party's performance.
"I had watched in great disappointment when we did nothing after the terrorists first attacked the World Trade Center in 1993, killing six and injuring more than 1,000 Americans,"
"Then again, when 16 U.S. servicemen were killed in the bombing of the Khobar Towers in 1996 and we still did nothing," he said.
But the failure to respond didn't end in 1996, Miller continued.
"I watched when U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Nairobi were attacked in 1998, killing 263 persons, and the only response we made was firing a few missiles on an empty terrorist camp," Miller said with dismay.
Miller was ashamed of Clinton - the weeny-left still love Bubba Bill. The true state of the Democrat Party is summed up in the title of Zell's highly recommended book. "A National Party No More." Zell's a gem - the Party he served is trash.
