Gerry O'Dious

A suggestion as stupid, as insensitive and as downright insulting as this could only have come from a Sinn Fein mouth. The Mayor of Londonderry, Gerry O'Hara, has put forward proposals for a 'civic remembrance service' to take place in the city before Christmas. 'The ceremony will be civic in nature and it is believed the event is scheduled to take place in December.'

Let's cut the crap! O'Hara, an apologist for IRA insurgency, is seeking to have terrorists and criminals elevated to the status of 'war veterans', alongside genuinely brave and decent people who gave their lives in the struggle against Nazi tyranny. How paradoxical it is that Sinn Fein offer to pay homage to people who struggled against Hitler, given that the party was very much in favour of Hitler and his murderous methods.

Luckily the Royal British Legion has already come down firmly against these ludicrous ideas. This is merely part of a concerted republican campaign to proselytise the masses into thinking IRA scum are as worthy of remembrance as soldiers who were fighting a genuine struggle in the battle for true freedom. As I've said before, efforts to equate terrorists with heroes might be acceptable to the cavemen in the Bogside, the Creggan and other assorted rat holes; the rest of the people of Ulster will rightfully give them a more suitable response.
