TACKLING THE CRIME FAMILIES.
Congratulations to the Asset Recovery Agency for moving against three business people based in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, who are also suspected of selling counterfeit goods, cigarette fraud and illegally importing fireworks from China. This kind of crackdown on the corrupt mafiosa that infest Northern Ireland is both timely and welcome. I note the reluctance of Alan McQuillan to come right out and state the loyalist paramilitary connections involved here - but he does at least hint "it`s also fair to say that some of the individuals involved do have personal and perhaps business links to some senior loyalists."
