SUN SET AT SIMI
Incredibly moving. The burial of Ronald Reagan at Simi Valley as the sun sunk into the Pacific Ocean. It's been a tough week for those of us who admired the Gipper with emotions churning as the people of America mourned the loss of this favoured son. My admiration to Nancy Reagan and the family who have shown nothing but dignity in the glare of the world's media. I also was touched by Baroness Thatcher's contribution.
Of course despite the crocodile tears of the leftist media, it has to be remembered that AT THE TIME they characterised Reagan as a "Cowboy" "a simpleton" who didn't understand the nuances of international diplomacy, and a provocateur who alienated our pals in Europe. Remind you of someone..? Yes, so let's finish with what the latest "cowboy" to inhabit the White House had to say on the subject,
"Ronald Reagan believed ... in the courage and triumph of free men and we believe it all the more because we saw that courage in him. As Ronald Wilson Reagan goes his way, we are left with the joyful hope he shared."
Amen.
