Prince Charles and Fergie
I always welcome a visit to Northern Ireland by a member of the Royal Family. True, I don't like to see the Royals used as political pawns (as was the case when the Queen bestowed the George Cross on the RUC before the Government cruelly disbanded the force at the behest of homicidal sewerage), but I like to see the House of Windsor taking an interest in all parts of the United Kingdom.
My feelings are not, apparently, shared by Belfast City councillor, Michael Ferguson. I suppose you will have already guessed that Ferguson is a member of the Brownshirt party. What other political movement would be so downright petty and hostile to the presence of Northern Ireland's future king as to make propagandistic capital out of it in order to excite the Piltdown men who make up the party's electorate?
Ferguson is vexed because HRH Prince Charles paid a recent visit to Crumlin Road jail on the 62nd Anniversary of the execution of IRA terrorist, Tom Williams. Naturally, Fergie left out the bit about the reason for Williams' execution in the first place: the calculated, pitiless murder of a Catholic RUC officer in 1942 (I wonder if Williams has managed to stoke the fires of hell in preparation for the arrival of former colleague, Joe Cahill? Mmmm). I suspect the Prince was taking an interest in Crumlin Road due to its forthcoming make-over and his interest in architectural matters. Moreover, given that Prince Charles wasn't even born until 6 years after the gratifying execution of Williams, I don't really think he can be held personally accountable.
Ferguson goes on to say that Royal visits to a part of the Windsor realm should be minimised lest they cause offence to 'nationalists and republicans'. All together now.........................ohhhhhhh diddums!!! Well, we wouldn't want to cause offence to the 'little ol'' nationalists and republicans now, would we? I mean, when all is said and done, they don't cause offence to democrats in general - and Unionists in particular - by eagerly endorsing a political party which became famous through the systematic occision of peace-loving people, do they!
