Sometimes the propaganda can take you by surprise.



At 6.00pm the BBC National UK News led with the story that Margaret Hassan, who holds BRITISH and IRAQI citizenship, has been taken hostage in Iraq by an unknown group of "insurgents" (terrorists in normal language)



At 6.30pm, BBC Northern Ireland were discussing the story that Margaret Hassan, who is IRISH, has been taken hostage in Iraq by an unknown group of "insurgents."



Hang on second - is she British or Irish? Is this the same person or have I entered a parallel universe in which the local BBC tries to re-brand everything and everyone Irish regardless of whether they are or not.



It transpires that the lady concerned was BORN in Ireland, thus making her Irish and proving that being born in a stable DOES indeed make you a horse.
